A Hur in the Command of Martyr Mostafa Chamran

It was an impressive quality of Shaheed chamran that he used to attract people towards himself. 

Once he was passing by the streets of mashhad, when he saw a tall heighted, Robust young man. Shaheed asked about him to which someone replied that, this young man is very mischievous and ill mannered. He is always ready to fight with everyone. You can think of him as the rufian(troublemake) of this street.

Shaheed said, I want to talk to him.

"Leave him Chamran, he is very ill mannered'' someone said. 

On which Shaheed insisted saying that even if he says a few bad words there won't be a big deal. Shaheed asked to take the car near him. He called that young man by his name. His name was Raza

He said ''Raza! Come here.'' The boy walk to shaheed Chamran

Shaheed said "I am Chamran."

''Yes I have heard of your name," he said.

Shaheed said ''I've heard that you cause a lot of trouble to the people. you even beat young boys. Everybody in this street is very threatened by you.''

He replied ''yes they all are scared of me. They make mistakes, so I scold them or even beat them.''

''It looks like you are very conscious about your self respect and dignity," predicted Shaheed Chamran.

 

''Yes I am a young man. I care a lot about my dignity. It's the adornment of a man afterall."

To which Shaheed replied 'why are you showing your dignity, in the neighborhood? If you really want to show your dignity, then come to the war zone. Enemies have attacked the borders, if they enter our country the honours, lives, wealth of every person would be at stake.' 

The man replied 'I want to come to the war, since a long time. I am not afraid of war or giving up on my life, but your baseejis (armed forces) say that they won't take me with them, they say that you don't pray, and you are ill mannered.

Shaheed assured, ''I would be taking you with me.''

He said, ''they won't accept me''

Shaheed insisted on which that young man picked up his belongings and went along with him.

 

With bravery the young man fought at the front line.

Shaheed narrates, "One day, I heard the voice of quarrels from the camps. When I went out to look, I saw that there were some four five soldiers and that young man is busy cussing them. I inquired about the problem. The second he noticed me. He started cursing me too. He said 'what kind of place you have brought me to. You guys are mannerless.''

I asked, ''what are you mad about?"

He said, ''It's been a very long time since I am asking them for just a single cigarette but no one is giving that to me.''

Shaheed chamran asked to bring him a full packet of cigarette. He gave him that Shaheed told him to sit calmly and smoke. 

About 3 to 4 hours later, that young boy came to Shaheed Chamran. He was continuously thinking about something that was bothering him. He asked from chamran "Am I allowed to come?"

Shaheed called him and asked to sit.

He started, ''First of all I am sorry, I behave very badly with you. I was really angry. but I want to know something. If someone behaved with me like that and if I had the power you have right now, I would never leave him without doing anything. You are the commander in chief here. Everybody was saying that, he has the audacity to cuss you. Just give us permission, we would kill him at this very moment, but you stoped everyone and listened to every unpleasant thing I said patiently.

 You replied with not even a single unpleasant word.''

Shaheed ask him to Settle down. He was seated.

Shaheed told, ''Look there is someone with whom I behave in a very terrible way but in return he never did anything terrible to me, so I thought that if he was like this to me let's just see what's the pleasure of doing so by behaving that way to someone else.''

He asked in amusement, ''Chamran! who is such that you behaved unpleasantly in every way possible but he did to you nothing like that?''

Shaheed said, ''you too have him.'' 

To which he asked, ''Who is he?''

Shaheed told him that He is the Lord of both of them.

Shaheed said that this sentence was a spark just like the spark that ignited Hur's soul (with guidance). 

He silently went out in the darkness of night. He sat on his prayer mat and prayed all night. The cry of his wails and lamentations was heard by every soldier present in the war zone. In the night prayers he raised his hands crying out 'Illahi al aff Illahi al aff' saying ''its true my lord, I always displeased you but I didn't bother to even notice and your Mercy towards me was such exalted that you made me stand right in the middle of Martyrs. You blessed me with the opportunity to be The Protector of our Homeland.''

Shaheed narrates that in the last sujood of his fajar prayer, he cried saying that, ''Oh lord! when I have done every possible bad, but you did every possible good to me, then make my body pure. I just want one thing from you O God! when I am martyred I don't want anyone to be able to find a single piece of my body, as this body was not obedient to you during whole of its life, and grant me martyrdom as soon as possible. I no longer enjoy being in this world.''

Shaheed said that, ''The second he stood up after performing his fajar prayers, a missile hit exactly where he was standing and we were not able to find even a single piece of his body.''

He was martyred in such a way which people wish to attain. In a single night Allah accepted his repentance and gave him such a high status.
